Balloch House Hotel Restaurant : Review

Today I attended the Lomond Shores SpringFest17 event, and after working up an appetite we all went for dinner.
This was my first time eating in here, my parents and my friends parents have been a few times but for me it was the first so I was looking forward to seeing what it was like.

Starter :

Blacksticks Blue cheese fondue £4.95
with vegetables and toasted rustic bread (V)

I decided after being a little bit of a pig today at the event, I would try and have a slightly healthier dinner….yes I did say slightly.

This was a perfect size for a starter, it wasn’t too filling that you would start thinking “oh I might not finish my main”.

The blue cheese dip was very nice, could have been a little stronger for me but thats just a personal thing.

The amount of vegetables you got with the dip, it could have had a few more as there was still lots of dip left over.

Overall it was a good starter and I would have it again.

Broad bean and asparagus risotto £9.45
with roasted vine tomatoes and Gran Moravia cheese

For me this would have been a perfect risotto if it doesn’t have such large chunks of asparagus in it, if they were cute down to very small chunks it would be been really nice.

Overall :

Overall todays meal was ok, if the risotto had smaller chunks of asparagus rather than the full thing and many of them I would have really had a nice meal.

I would go back here for dinner, and maybe try a few other items off the menu.
